Corpsepaint

A set entirely inspired by black metal, in particular the one of
Vermilia. I did some corpsepaint back in the days but without opaque white bodypaint. Now I have it, I wanted to redo it properly. I am not a massive fan of corpsepaint, though. I tend to quickly find it cringy, which is why my own version is more subtle than your usual corpsepaint.

Un set entièrement inspiré par le black metal, en particulier celui de
Vermilia. J'ai déjà fait quelques photos de corpsepaint il y a longtemps, mais sans fond de teint blanc opaque. Maintenant que j'en ai, j'ai voulu le refaire, en mieux. Ceci dit, je ne suis pas une grande fan de corpsepaint, j'ai tendance à vite trouver ça ridicule. Mon propre corpsepaint est donc plus subtile que ceux qu'on voit habituellement.
Control

Creating a cybergoth set that would be more artistic and abstract than my usual cybergoth urbex photoshoots was an idea I have been having for quite a while. Between the vague idea and the concrete photos, other ideas came in, and that's the result.
As usual, this set has two levels of meaning: the first one is to simply appreciate these photos without thinking too much. These photos are before anything else taken in an artistic approach of visual aesthetic creation which can be appreciated on its own.
But if you're interested in the second level of meaning:
The middle photo is inspired by, or maybe even represents Zoltar, the character from Poets of the Fall's
Carnival of Rust music video. Using this makeup in this set was part of my base idea.
The two other photos were supposed to have no reference behind them, but in the end I got inspired by the video game Control and its character Polaris. The triangle represents Control as a game, and I like to imagine that if Polaris had a body, she could look like this.
Of course, these aren't cosplays, but simple references, nods and inspirations. There's anyway no actual link between Zoltar and Polaris.
Faire un set cybergoth de façon plus artistique et abstraite que mes shoots cyber classiques en urbex me trottait dans la tête depuis un moment. Le temps que ça se fasse, d'autres idées sont venues s'attacher à l'idée de départ, et voilà le résultat.
Comme d'habitude, ce set possède deux niveaux de lectures : le premier est simplement d'apprécier ces photos sans se poser de questions. Ces photos sont avant-tout prises dans une démarche artistique et esthétique visuelle qui se suffit à elle-même.
Mais si le deuxième niveau de lecture vous intéresse :
La photo du milieu est inspirée de voire représente Zoltar, le personnage du clip de
Carnival of Rust de Poets of the Fall. Faire ce maquillage pour ce set faisait partie de l'idée de base.
Les deux autres photos étaient au départ censées n'avoir aucune référence, mais j'ai été au final inspirée par
Control et le personnage de Polaris. Le triangle représente
Control en tant que jeu, et je me plais à imaginer que si Polaris devait avoir une apparence, elle pourrait ressembler à ça.
Bien entendu ce ne sont pas du tout des cosplays, ce sont des simples inspirations, clins d’œil et références. Il n'y a d'ailleurs aucun rapport direct entre Zoltar et Polaris.
Doom

A set inspired by doom metal. I wanted to mix, in an artistic way, the doom metal ambience of Draconian and Swallow the Sun with the fashion of tradgoth and therefore the ambience of post-punk and darkwave. This set was also an excuse to show off with my brand new entirely handmade fishnet shawl.

Un set inspiré par le doom metal. Je voulais mélanger, d'une façon artistique, l'ambiance du doom metal de Draconian et de Swallow the Sun avec une tenue tradgoth et donc avec l'ambiance du post-punk et de la darkwave. Ce set est également un prétexte pour frimer avec mon tout nouveau châle résille entièrement fait par mes petites mains.

Poets of the Fall - 2

Abstract set inspired by Poets of the Fall. This set is more inspiration in the first sense, compared to the previous set, which is much more of a tribute than an inspiration.
Overall inspired by songs like False Kings, False Kings Unplugged, Daze.
The crystal necklace is from Sanctuaire, a French shop kept by someone well known to me. The feather necklace, dubbed 'hopecatcher', is by Poets.

Un set abstrait inspiré par Poets of the Fall. Ce set est de l'inspiration au sens premier, comparé au set précédent qui était bien plus un hommage qu'une inspiration.
Globalement inspiré par des chansons comme False Kings, False Kings Unplugged, Daze.
Le pendentif cristal vient de Sanctuaire Shop, boutique française tenue par quelqu'un que je connais bien. Le pendentif plume, nommé "hopecatcher", appartient aux poètes.
Poets of the Fall - 1

A tribute to Poets of the Fall. But, even though these photos are a tribute, they can be enjoyed as artistic photos with freedom of interpretation.
Photo 1 is a not-so-subtle tribute to Carnival of Rust.
Photo 2 is the morpho, a symbol representing a moth done by POTF fans.
Photo 3 is mainly inspired by Jeremiah, one of Marko Saaresto's (POTF singer) alter egos, that can be found in Cradled in Love.
This set has also been inspired by the doom metal bands Swallow the Sun and Draconian.

Un hommage à Poets of the Fall. Mais, même si ces photos sont un hommage, elles peuvent s'apprécier en tant que photos artistiques à interprétation libre.
Photo 1 est un hommage pas du tout subtil à Carnival of Rust.
Photo 2 est un morpho, un symbole représentant un papillon de nuit, fait dans la fandom.
Photo 3 est principalement inspirée par Jeremiah, l'un des alter ego de Marko Saaresto (vocaliste de POTF) que l'on peut trouver dans Cradled in Love.
Ce set a également été très inspiré par Swallow the Sun et Draconian, groupes de doom metal.
Remedy

A tribute to Remedy, the studio behind the games Alan Wake, Quantum Break, Max Payne, Control. Stonecrow is a fictionnal band in these games.
The thirt as well as the pendant are handmade and appear in the games. The middle photo is a poem I wrote.
These photos are a tribute but can also be seen as more simple metalhead fashion photos.

Un hommage à Remedy, le studio derrière les jeux vidéo Alan Wake, Quantum Break, Max Payne, Control. Stonecrow est un groupe musical fictif dans ces jeux.
Le t-shirt et le collier sont faits main et apparaissent dans les jeux. La photo du milieu est un poème que j'ai écris.
Ces photos sont un hommage mais peuvent également être vues comme de simples photos fashion métalleux.
