My 10 Ungoth Confessions
Hello there! Here is a tag I wanted to do for ages!
What are ungoth confessions?
What are ungoth confessions?
It's a tag where you list ten facts that make you a fake goth, especially when it comes to tastes, opinions or habits that go against what is usually done within the goth community. This tag is completely humouristic, it's about laughing of yourself!
Alright, let's go!
MY 10 UNGOTH CONFESSIONS
1. I listen to a lot of non-goth music. Goth music is my whole life, but so is metal, since I’m as goth as metalhead. And generally speaking, my music taste is very wide: spiritual Scandinavian folk, video games soundtrack, Lana Del Rey, Michael Malarkey, Björk, Fever Ray, Michael Jackson, t.A.T.u... I’m also quite an acid techno fan, and I enjoy here and there some dubstep. All of the music that I listen to is a part of my life and of my endity.
2. I don’t wear makeup everyday. Nope. For me, makeup is an accessory, just like a necklace or a belt. It’s never a necessity, and I don’t wear it to be more beautiful or to hide my eyebags or acne. Which means I don’t have many makeup tools, and when it coms to creams, foundations, concealers, paletettes and such, I find it pretty much useless. I really see makeup like an accessory. If I feel my outfit doesn’t need this accessory, I don’t put it on. I put makkeup only when I feel something’s missing to my outfit. And since in my daily life I most wear jeans and band t-shirts, I barely ever feel the need to makeup - and when I do, all I do is some eyeliner or lipstick. But full goth makeup is for full goth outfits.
3. I dyed my hair fairly recently, just about a year ago. Which means I spent 9 years of being a blonde goth. How dare I!
4. No coffee, no alcohol, no cigarettes. No coffee simply because I don’t like it. And cigarettes and alcohol, by personal morals, I wish to stay as far away from them as possible.
5. My iPod, which helped me to listen to goth music back when I didn’t have a phone, is pink. I chose it pink. And I like it pink. And still use it to this day, cause my phone memory is full. Overall, I have no troubles to enjoy colours, as long as they’re not on my clothes. I don’t need all of my objects to be black, and I find rather ridiculous the black food trend...
6. I don’t like Halloween. I don’t find it appealing. I find the black-orange combo to be pretty ugly, and overall, neither costumes or going for treats is something I enjoy. I did it once, a few years ago, and it was cool, but that’s all. The whole ‘Halloween ambience’ is not something I find appealing.
7. I don’t like skulls. I’d like to have a fake yet realistic skull as a home decor, but other than that, clothes, accessories or anything with a skull pattern, I find it childish and cringy...
8. I’m a gamer. I love poetry and literature, but I’m also a passionate gamer.
9. I’m not really into The Cure or Bauhaus. I like some songs here and there, but they’re not bands I know nor want to know more about. Oops...?
10. No tattoos nor piercings. Let me introduce you to belenophobia (or belonephobia, no one really knows). It’s the phobia of needles. In my case, no troubles with sewing needles (I love sewing!), but syringes and medical needles, or anything that ressembles it... I have a total phobia of it (as in, I scream during blood tests). So you can understand why piercings and tattoos aren’t for me. Which is sad, because as much as I’m not into piercings, I have at least two very serious tattoo projects...
